I was fortunate enough to have parents and grandparents who instilled Navajo philosophy into me. I grew up listening to my people’s traditional stories. My favorite were the Warrior Twin stories, in which the twins “Monster Slayer” and “Born for Water” (the names vary from storyteller to storyteller) conquered human-eating Enemies so that we humans could prosper. In our stories, the Warrior Twins ran every morning so that they could physically outmatch the human-eating-Enemies. It is with that in mind that parents and grandparents encourage their children to run in the morning so that they too can overcome tremendous obstacles.
Fitness has been a huge part of my life for many years. I have a herniated disc in my L4 region, arthritis in my right knee, and had plantar fasciitis. Through exercise and stretching, I have been able to reduce my body pain and maintain my ability to move while achieving higher and higher levels of fitness.
I am certified through National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), with specializations in Performance Enhancement, Corrective Exercise, Fitness Nutrition, and Weight Loss. I am certified to teach with TRX suspension trainer (TRX), AntiGravity Hammock (Christopher Harrison AntiGravity Fitness), and Kettlebell (StrongFirst). AND finally, I am certified to teach online through the Online Trainer Academy.
For both Online and in-person training, I use google sheets to collect assessment data, information on your eating habits, etc., as well as to assign workouts.
